  • Iwaoropenelep always opens with Thunderwing.
  • Thunderwing has a cooldown of 3 turns.
    • If Iwaoropenelep's HP is at or below 50%, it is far more likely to use Thunderwing as soon as it's off cooldown than it is prior to that point.

  • Phase 3: Lasts from 50% to 36% HP. Opens with Wind Breath. After that, Iwaoropenelep will use Wind Breath when any party members do not have its debuff. Besides t hat, Iwaoropenelep uses all skills from previous phases.
  • Phase 4: Lasts from 35% HP to death. Iwaoropenelep uses all previous skills, as well as Deathbringer.

Corotrangul could maul you very easily if you were unprepared. Iwaoropenelep is that except even worse. Thunderwing's inaccurate, but it's not going to miss all of the time, and it will probably wipe out whoever it hits. Pinion Spear's also likely to kill anyone it hits...as unlikely as that is with its base accuracy. Deathbringer and Chaosbringer are the main things you need to worry about, since they not only can probably kill whoever they hit, they also try to inflict either petrification or panic, respectively, on adjacent party members. Grip's not much better, but at least it doesn't have splash damage.

And then there's Wind Breath. Bring along some way of purging debuffs, or Wind Breath will turn Thunderwing and Pinion Spear into all-but-guaranteed game overs.

Got that? Good. Party members time:

Judith: Judith brings War Cry to the table, which...can be a liability with party members that teeter on the edge of being very durable, such as Afon, but doesn't mean much in the grander scheme of things for very fragile ones like Momoe. I'll probably swap her weapon skillset to axes for this fight since, well, swords aren't gonna do much for me here.

Elowen: Elowen is fast, and can toss out healing items and buff purgers quickly. She also still has Wolf Pack with her for unconditional damage amplification.

Vince: Vince gives me a giant cushion against the physical attacks, and can completely mitigate the opening Thunderwing. Future ones are uncertain, but the timing isn't that hard to get.

Sigrid: Iwaoropenelep unfortunately resists paralysis and panic, which means Sigrid's Bite skills aren't going to be worth as much here. Whip skills are an option, especially since we just unlocked the Dominator...

Thierry: CPR can be invaluable with how hard Iwaoropenelep hits, especially if I don't have Vince for that extra cushion. Thierry also brings decent sleep and paralysis infliction now, which is still crazy to me.

Katya: I don't know about you, but that 150% ice vulnerability looks pretty attractive as far as taking Katya along goes.

Emmett: Emmett, annoyingly, does not have an evasion buff to use as a counter to Wind Breath. What he does have is Shelter Song and Barbaric March, both of which provide a massive 74% boost to the party's effective HP when un-Boosted, and a comically-big 103% boost when Boosted. Oh yeah, he has Warrior Song too, but I'm not going to be using that if either War Cry or Bloody Offense are available.

Momoe: Momoe is fragile. Very, very fragile. She is also, however, our best damage dealer behind Katya. If you're going to vote for her, maybe also vote in a defensive option alongside her.

Quixote: Quixote's infliction score outpaces Iwaoropenelep's resistance score by 10 points--in short, Quixote's base infliction chances are slightly raised against Iwaoropenelep, before resistances and Curse Mastery are factored in. Annoyingly, Iwaoropenelep's skills are spread across all three body parts, but that just means ailments are all the more attractive.

Afon: Afon has Bloody Offense and her DC + CC combo both maxed out and ready to go. She's honestly nowhere near as durable as Judith, but does offer more damage in exchange.

Ladette: Same thing as Katya: a 150% ice vulnerability is very easy to exploit with Ladette.
