Queen Ant is an irritating fight. Accuracy and blind gimmicks are never fun to deal with, panic is never fun to deal with, and heavy to instant-kill-level physical damage is never fun to deal with. I think we can all agree on that.
Now, go and look at Queen Ant's skills. I'll wait.
Yeah, we get to deal with all of that. Now, we do get a few mercies: Ruler's Eye is 100% predictable, Duster only starts being used when she's at 50% or lower, and Queen's Verdict only becomes very frequent when she's at 25% HP or lower. On the downside, that now means that you're dealing with frequent Queen's Verdicts.
Now, there is one extra gimmick to the Queen Ant fight, but it's one you're unlikely to see if you do the field gimmick correctly: the ant FOEs. If you don't kill off all the ant eggs, any number of Blood Ants or Servitor Ants are likely to join in on the fight, which is extremely dangerous. You do not want Queen Ant to take half damage from everything, or for Queen's Verdict to become guaranteed death.
Once you've gotten the eggs out of the way, the primary threat here is Duster. That combined with Blind can render a party completely helpless in terms of being able to do damage, which can easily spell your demise from attrition. This is probably the best fight in the game for Survivalist's utility.
With all that in mind, off to party recommendations.Judith: Judith's main contribution, as always, is War Cry. It's a bit of a riskier gamble this time because Queen's Verdict is already heavily damaging as-is, but such is War Cry anyway. Besides that, she's fairly sturdy, and stands a good chance of surviving Queen's Verdict.
Elowen: Elowen has a bit of an unusual use here: Sure Shot can dispel (or block, if casted preemptively) the Duster debuff. Besides that, Efficiency is still as amazing as ever.
Vince: With such heavy physical damage being thrown around in the form of Queen's Verdict, Vince can be pretty key to keeping some of our more fragile frontliners, such as Sigrid or Momoe, alive.
Sigrid: Queen Ant resists no ailments or binds. This is a perfect chance for Sigrid to finally show off Soul Liberator, although that'll probably need a bit of assistance from Quixote.
Thierry: CPR is good for keeping someone from getting sniped by Crunch, or from multiple party members getting wiped out by Queen's Verdict. Besides that, Thierry makes a good Wolf Pack vehicle, since he doesn't have too much to do on a turn-to-turn basis.
Katya: Katya's vulnerable to eating heavy damage from Crunch or Queen's Verdict, even in the back row, but on the other hand, she's as good a damage dealer as ever.
Emmett: Buffs are never a bad thing, and in Emmett's case, Shelter Song has some pretty serious merit in this fight--in addition to, y'know, making the battle shorter through the use of damage buffs.
Momoe: Momoe's our best physical damage dealer, as always. Do keep in mind that she'll need help surviving Queen's Verdict, though.
Quixote: Quixote can have a fun time in this fight, due to Queen Ant not resisting any ailments. If Sigrid's in the fight, his main job can be either using Muting Word to amplify everyone's damage, or cycle through ailments to help her set off Soul Liberator. If she's not in the fight, he's always good for the former.
Afon: Much like with Judith, Afon's main contribution is Bloody Offense. Unlike War Cry, though, Bloody Offense is less likely to be directly responsible for someone dying, and Afon can contribute more damage than Judith, as well.
Ladette: Ladette is finally starting to shine, due to Action Boost, and she's a pretty solid source of elemental damage. She's not as good at that as Katya, though, even with Action Boost, due to fundamental differences between the STR damage formula and the TEC damage formula. It's also probably best if Elowen tags along with her, since Action Boost can drain her TP very quickly, and Efficiency Amritas help with that.
