Get out of here!

What happened?
In truth, that man has been following me ever since my father disappeared...

Why is he following you?

Maurice's Crest?
Yes. It's also known as...the Crest of the Beast...
It's said there were once 12 heroes who saved Fódlan. There was the King of Liberation, Nemesis...the 10 Elites, and finally...Maurice. One day, Maurice suddenly transformed into a hideous beast and slaughtered innocent people. It was like when Miklan of House Gautier turned into a Black Beast. The negative energy dwelling within his Crest turned Maurice into a monster. The people of Fódlan grew to despise him, and he was stripped of his honor. His whole clan was conquered, and it was believed that his bloodline had vanished...

My family line...is one of them.
Maurice's Crest is a symbol of disaster. Anyone who comes in contact with it is met with great misfortune.

What that man mentioned earlier...
Yes, the rumor about the Wandering Beast in the woods...

If it's defeated, wouldn't the rumor be dispelled?
That may be true but...I doubt I could do it on my own.

Let's go.
Thank you! But, um...
Promise you won't tell anyone about my Crest?
Abby nods.

Give me strength.

Lin... Well, you did need Spd.

Meep.

Yeah, the Wandering Beast is not to be trifled with. I think this is the first-time we've run into Anti-Magic Armor, which, well, nullifies magic damage against an armor tile.

Renewal: Unit recovers up to 20% of max HP at the start of each turn.
Heartseeker: Adjacent foes suffer Avo -20 during combat.
Magic Bind: If unit lands a hit, targeted foe is unable to use magic for 1 turn.
Armored Blow: If unit initiates combat, grants Def +6 during combat.
Death Blow: If unit initiates combat, grants Str +6 during combat.
Defiant Str: Grants Str +8 when HP is ≤ 25%.

Oh, and that crest? That's a major Crest of the Beast. I don't know if it applies to monster weapons—I don't think it does—but if it does, then the jerk has a 40% chance to get +5 damage on an attack. Ingrid passes her Falcon Knight certification exam! Yay! She's now reaching max power!

Falcon Knight is, you might be able to infer, the Master version of Pegasus Knight—which means it's locked to women, sadly—and the only other flying Master class besides Wyvern Lord.

Canto: Allows unit to move again after completing certain actions, if there is movement remaining.
Lancefaire: Grants Atk +5 when using a lance.
Avo +10: Increases Avo by 10.

It has basically the same class abilities as Wyvern Lord, except it swaps out Axefaire for Lancefaire.

Defiant Avo: Grants Avo +30 when HP is ≤ 25%.

The mastery ability is not great, but it has the honor of being something you'd actually want when at dangerously low HP, unlike most other stats.

Falcon Knight and Wyvern Lord have similar growth rate adjustments—Wyvern Lord has +15% Str, +10% Spd, Falcon Knight has +10% Str, +20% Spd. For my money, I kind of like the higher Spd growth more, but I also understand why the +5% Str might be more attractive on Wyvern Lord.

Admittedly, Wyvern Lord's innate Str boost is much higher than Falcon Knight's, at +4 when mounted compared to Falcon Knight's +1 when mounted.

Lysithea also passes the Gremory certification exam. (It's not reflected on her model since I have her set up to just use her normal clothes for battle.)

Gremory is exclusive to women units, and functions as the ending class for infantry magic users. While that means a major loss of mobility compared to Holy Knight or Dark Knight, and a damage loss due to the lack of White Tomefaire (on Holy Knight) or Black Tomefaire and Dark Tomefaire (on Dark Knight), Gremory makes up for it with something very different.

Black Magic Uses x2: Doubles the number of uses for black magic.
White Magic Uses x2: Doubles the number of uses for white magic.
Dark Magic Uses x2: Doubles the number of uses for dark magic.

These three skills are Gremory's class abilities. Functionally, what this means is that Gremory doubles all of a unit's uses of magic per battle. This has a lot of implications. Bishop doubles the amount of uses of white magic, but Gremory is the only class that can double the uses of black and dark magic.

Let's use Lysithea as an example for offensive magic users. Luna Λ gets 4 uses per battle. Dark Spikes Τ gets 6 uses per battle. Hades Ω gets 4 uses per battle. All of her major firepower can now be used much more freely now compared to without Gremory. Oh, and she can use Warp twice per battle, too!

For a defensive example, let's consider Mercedes, although do note that all of these benefits aren't technically exclusive to Gremory. Heal gets 20 uses, Physic gets 10 uses, Fortify gets 4 uses. 10 uses of Physic and 4 uses of Fortify gives Mercedes a lot of healing power from far away, compared to the un-boosted 5 uses of Physic and 2 uses of Fortify she'd get if she was a holy knight.

All that combat unlocked a lot of supports, so...supports!

Bowfaire and Bowrange +2. In Bernadetta's hands, standard bows now have 2-4 range. That is absurdly good.

Defiant Spd: Grants Spd +8 when HP is ≤ 25%.

Bow Knight's mastery ability is...anemic, sadly. Oh well, I expect that from Master classes. The only Master classes with good mastery abilities are Dark Knight (Seal Resistance) and War Master (Quick Riposte).

Petra also classes into Falcon Knight.

Next time: Ailell, the Valley of Torment.
