Very.
Excellent. That's most reassuring. If it's not too big a burden, I ask that you believe in us as well. We can win. I'm sure of it. After all, it's not as though we've spent the last half-year sitting idle. And I'm feeling stronger this moon. As though I could conquer a thousand opponents all on my own.
Don't get carried away...
I'm only joking, of course... But perhaps it isn't a laughing matter. I beg your forgiveness. I must practice levity so that I can provide a more enjoyable joke when the opportunity next presents itself. After all, I hear that telling jokes is a good way to calm the nerves before heading into battle. Still...I find it quite difficult. Well, it's about time for the battle to begin. Everyone, brace yourselves.
Hmph. All I'm worried about is finding someone worthy to cross swords with.
We've prepared and trained a great deal. We should be fine, right?
You're always so carefree, Mercie! Don't forget we need to try our hardest out there so we can win!
This is our chance to show how hard we've been working. Let's do our best!
If I emerge victorious in the lauded Battle of the Eagle and Lion, the ladies are sure to take notice. I'll have to go into hiding.
Ugh, is that all you think about? Actually, so long as you try your hardest, frame it however you like.
Haha, I shall give it my all!
No matter the battle, I will never falter.
We're counting on your guidance, Professor. Let's show the world what the Blue Lions are made of!

Hello again, Gronder 1, nice to see you.

Here's who I'll be taking along. It's been a hot minute since we saw Bernadetta, Yuri, or Caspar in battle, so let's give them a chance to get back into it.

Gronder 1 (and, spoilers, Gronder 2) have the very uncommon distinction of having absolutely no changes to their units on Maddening. No extra units, no extra reinforcements, nothing. All we have to contend with is our enemies having the standard Maddening stat buffs.

And boy, do they have stat buffs. I know we're coming off of paralogues where we were contending with level 22 units, so this may not be as intimidating, but still.

Oh yeah, enemy pegasus knights on Maddening have Swordbreaker+ and Weight -3 as their extra abilities. Yes, they get two, because you, personally, must suffer.

30 Spd, 23 AS, give me a break.

45 Atk, my gods, we're on Chapter 7, that's the sort of enemy numbers I'd only expect to see once Part 2 has begun!

Lorenz, my man, why've you got Black Magic Avo +20 when you can't use black magic?

Hilda's got a 1-2 weapon with 37 Atk and 114 Hit. Super.

See, Lysithea could actually make use of Dark Magic Avo +20, if we were facing her as an enemy!

2-3 range, 37 Atk, 16 AS. Cool, cool cool.

Our starting positions aren't very conducive to Stride, but that's okay.

Hell yeah to that exact kill, hell no to that level.

Dimitri moving here blocks the cavalier down there from being able to reach Adan.

Sadly, Constance cannot one-shot the ballista user with Bolting.

Pointless Wards it is.

Hits.

This is why I wanted Dimitri to be the cavalier's target.

Hell yeah.

The Golden Deer are already on the move. Fine by me.

Ashe is able to compensate for the innate low accuracy of Deadeye by having two support bonuses.

Dedue and Caspar get some more Stride.

Missed your damage stats again, dammit, Yuri.

Dedue can handle this.

Caspar's gonna bait out Ferdinand.

The pegasus knights are headed towards us.

nice

That's also nice.

Well, that was easy.

Suffer not an enemy archer to live.

Dammit.

I'm putting some real stress on the Lance of Ruin. Least we've got some umbral steel in storage.

You two, hold still.

Reminder that Physic is extremely good, and access to it can make an otherwise unimpressive unit significantly better.

The central hill is mine.

That sure is a 3% crit.

Much like the warriors on Rumored Nupitals, the fact that Hilda can deal this much damage to Dedue should be a good indication of how powerful she is.

You fool.

That's Ferdinand down, at least.

Hilda may have a lot of Cha, but, well, it's hard for anyone to compete with a Lord, especially when support boosts are involved.

That's the initial east-side threats taken care of.

Best of luck, Yuri.

Physic isn't nearly as fun when it gets used against me.

I have no idea why the mage decided to get within melee range of the brigand.

If only Dedue could move faster.

Ouch. At least Caspar'll survive that.

That's just pathetic.

Lin, please.

Wow, a critical 0 Mt attack.

She's got some tricks.

Bap.

Gambit time? Gambit time.

Please stop missing your damned damage stats, Yuri.

You see Ingrid, Yuri? Be more like Ingrid. Get your damage stat.

Chunky.

Well, the Golden Deer are almost wiped out.

Listen, you got Mag, that's all I care about.

Same to you.

...I should've killed that mage with Constance when I had the chance.

Maybe not the best use of Ashes and Dust, but hey. She got Str.

Bernadetta's position unfortunately puts her in the danger zone, so Caspar uses Impregnable Wall on her.

Dedue softens Claude up.

Enough of your foolishness! I— Wait a moment. You are trying to anger me, is that it?
Saw right through me, did you? Well, if there's no deal, I'll just have to win this thing fair and square!
I will happily face you, here and now. Do not hold back, Claude!

Never stood a chance.

I'd normally be disappointed, but Dimitri can never have enough Spd.

...Lin, why would you do that?

Didn't even need to crit you.

I remembered to open the chest.

Bernadetta gets Impregnable Wall so she can bait Edelgard off her heal tile+.

Jesus, Edelgard with a tomahawk can double Bernadetta?

Unfortunately for Edelgard, she doesn't have Counterattack, so she has no answer for attacks beyond two range.

An easy kill nets Caspar an almost-perfect level.

Annette, meanwhile, is still Annette.

I assumed you would attack us head-on. I clearly need to rethink my opinion of you. Well done, Dimitri.
You both deserve equal praise for a battle well fought. All three houses did extremely well. Don't you agree, Professor?
Not strong enough, clearly. If there's ever a next time, know that I plan to wipe that smile from your face.
It's an honor to hear that from a fighter such as yourself! But there's no getting around it. The Blue Lions were better prepared.
It only seemed that way because of the caliber of your command. Even now, we must not allow ourselves to become complacent.
In any case, I hope the day never comes when we have to put this experience to use.
I wouldn't mind. I'll accept a challenge from either of you at any time. Heh, I'm kidding, of course!
That is nothing to joke about. The true Battle of the Eagle and Lion is best left in the past. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually change the name of this mock battle.
I hope so.
How admirable, Teach! On that note, I have a proposition. When we get back to Garreg Mach, let's have a grand feast to break down the walls between our respective houses. And by a "grand" feast, I mean a fairly regular feast in the dining hall.
You really value that kind of thing, don't you? Well, I suppose no harm can come from it. Count me in.
I have no objections either. And you, Professor?
I'm looking forward to it.

Really, though, I must thank you again. Our victory in the Battle of the Eagle and Lion was thanks, in no small part, to you.
We all did our part.
Yes, that is true, but it was your instruction that allowed us to reach our full potential.
I feel silly admitting this now, but when you first came to lead our class...you unnerved me. You never smiled, and you never showed anger either. And yet, you didn't appear to be suppressing your emotions. They just...weren't there. At first I thought perhaps you just didn't care for us, but I soon concluded that wasn't the case at all. For the longest time I just couldn't tell what you were thinking. It was though you had no humanity whatsoever...
And now?
You're different now. In the half-year we've spent together, I've seen the glow of humanity in your eyes and in your actions countless times.
I am truly grateful to have had the chance to spend this time with you, Professor.

Yes, that! Without you, the Blue Lions... Well, we wouldn't even be the Blue Lions at all! Except for the blue part. Because we'd be sad.
I suppose...there are worse things than fighting at your side.
I have had the opportunity to experience much. Please allow me to offer you my gratitude once more, Professor.
You have our trust, Professor. As well as our admiration. I look forward to spending the rest of the year with you.
As do I.
